Changes to the 2017 AIA Owner-Architect Agreements

Learn about the rationale driving changes and how the new sustainable projects exhibition can
be used to provide a positive outcome on the health, safety and welfare of building components.


Presented by: Michael J. Cremonese, Esq.

Mr. Cremonese focuses his practices on construction law, professional liability and business law. His
clients have included architects, engineers and design-builders throughout all phases of the design and
building, as well as real estate owners and developers and those in the energy and logistics industries.

His experience includes mediation, arbitration and litigation at both the trial andappellate
levels, as well as advising and representing his clients in contract negotiations,
risk management strategies, business structuring and restructuring matters.

In addition to representing a wide spectrum of clients, Mr. Cremonese has written for The Legal
Intelligencer on professional negligence, negligent misrepresentation and managing risks. He has
also presented extensively to architect and engineer groups on topics including drafting and
negotiating contracts, legal risks and risk management, integrated project delivery, designer-led
design-build, ethics, and ownership transitions including mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Cremonese currently serves on the Construction Section Council of the Allegheny County Bar
Association and is an active member of the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects, where
he frequently presents seminars related to construction law. He has also served three years on the
March of Dimes, Transportation, Building and Construction Awards Luncheon Committee.
